A frequently-asked query:
i am starting a small web-based business with blog and can’t decide on what offer is best.
i am looking for best uptime, easy cpanel site setup, e-commerce support state of the art, lotsa advertising credits for google and social media like FB.
i am also considering other hosts like inmotion hosting (i think best response and uptime) and godaddy (45 mil domains, nr1)
Answer: You are not alone. Free hosting will not be the best hosting for you. Web hosting is the heart of your online presence and can mean the life or death to your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 factors to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has at least 30 days money back guarantee,
- gives more-than-enough diskspace,
- offers unlimited bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has easy Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their cheap dedicated server plans if and when your business require.
To answer your question, 92% of Webmasters recommended to try Hostgator. If you are building your first website and needs a hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best cheap cpanel hosting around.
What if you find out that Hostgator sucks after you signed up with them? HG has 45 days, longer-than-industry-average money back guarantee so you have ample time to test them out. They are rated A+ by Better Business Bureau which shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. You also do not have to pay for the first month. You can just try their fully functional hosting service – you pay only $0.01 (you need to use the special coupon code). Do you know any other hosting company that can give you that kind of assurance? Anybody can grab an account from Hostgator for almost FREE.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost

Justhost, Hostgator, iPage, and Hostmonster all offer what you’re asking for…but there’s only one that offers considerably more advertising credits than the rest. iPage offers you $450 in advertising credits with the right coupon, followed by Fatcow with $125 and the rest.
Inmotion ROCKS, when it comes to the server quality they are better than any of the others you mentioned, including GoDaddy. They are slightly more expensive, but with the right coupon it’s not that much more expensive and you’ll have another great benefit…you can upgrade at any time should you notice thousands of visitors are suddenly flooding your site. I know some people recommend Hostgator, but I HATE their support after finding out some of them can’t even answer the most basic questions. They’re also not the cheapest host out there.
Personally, I’d go with Greenville (cheapest at only 9c/day and great server uptime…been using them for a few months now, great support too), iPage (because of the advertising credits), or Inmotion because their servers simply rock.
Anyway, whenever I’m looking for a new host, I check out coupons. Found out a lot of them are outdated on websites. The most up to date coupons I found were on a Twitter stream of a guy called "WebhostingD", he seems to update the coupons daily and has all major hosts. I’ve been using his stream for my past 5 hosts and was always happy with the deal I got. I’ll post the link bellow. Make sure to check out his/her Twitter stream once you know which host you want to go for. I think WebhostingD’s still featuring the latest 50%OFF offer from iPage, and when I signed up with Inmotion a little over 2 months ago, he also had a cool coupon.
Word of warning: Be careful with coupons and shared hosting prices. Hostgator’s "first month only 1c" offer is crap compared with the offers of other hosts, it just sounds nice, but if you do the math, it only saves you 1 month…which is a lot worse than iPage’s 50%OFF forever offer.
IMPORTANT:
NEVER pay more than $4.5/mo for shared hosting, which means Bluehost is overpriced even with a coupon. Not sure why the guy above me recommends them, the other hosts are at least as good in terms of service, and do it for a lot cheaper.

I’m a website designer so I have worked with many, many hosts. First, do NOT use GoDaddy. They are unreliable, and nickle and dime you for things all other hosts offer for free. JustHost is okay. I don’t care for ipage.
My personal favorite is HostGator. I recommend them to everyone. Great support, uptime, easy setup. Also, coupon code 23GATOR420 will get you 25% off on a new account.
Good luck!

hi Otto, I am also using Hostgator and run several WordPress blogs on 1 account. Prices start at around $4/month. I have the Baby plan for 7.96$ where you can host unlimited domains. No technical problems, very reactive support which quite surprised me that even if I am only a few bucks customer, they respond immediately. Haven’t been used to such a support before 🙂
There is also another coupon code HGGREEN2011 that gets you $9.95 discount from the 1st invoice. Consider what kind of promo code will get you more discount.
Anyway, good luck with your business!
