A frequently-asked query:
I recently purchased a domain from godaddy and a hosting server from stablehost.com. When I signed up with stablehost it told me to put in the name of the domain I had so I put it in, let’s pretend it’s abcprintingcompany.com. Okay so now I was wondering what I was supposed to change on the hosting server to see the changes at " abcprintingcompany.com". So then I researched a bit and found out you need to link or connect the host and domain. So i went to the domain settings at godaddy and edited the A (Host) to make it "Points To" the IP provided "Nameserver 1: ns1.stablehost.com (72.249.127.244)" I’ve uploaded a basic html file into the cPanel to see if it works and now instead of the parked page, it takes forever to load and loads a dead page.
I’d appreciate any help, thanks!!
Answer: This is quite a popular question. Free hosting will most probably never be the right hosting for aspiring website owner. Web hosting is the heart of your web presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 qualities to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has friendly Live Chat from the start,
- gives unlimited storage,
- offers no limit on bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has easy Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.
To answer your question, many experienced web developers suggest to try Hostgator. If you are building your first website and needs a hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best cheap cpanel hosting around.
What if you find out that Hostgator sucks after you signed up with them? HG has 45 days, longer-than-industry-average money back guarantee so you have ample time to test them out. They are rated A+ by Better Business Bureau which shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. You also do not have to pay for the first month. You can just try their fully functional hosting service – you pay only $0.01 (you need to use the special coupon code). Do you know any other hosting company that can give you that kind of assurance? Anybody can grab an account from Hostgator for almost FREE.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost
If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just shoot them some questions before you decide.

Set both pointers as requested. It takes up to 48-hours for other servers to pick those up. Once your index.html page starts showing, you are good to go. I recommend you use a separate FTP to upload/download files and not the cPanel’s Utility. I also recommend editing your web site pages on your computer and backing these files up on an external drive. Just make a Projects folder or name it whatever you want. There are plenty of FREE web editors.
