A typical query:
I know I want to use WordPress.org and I want to pay for my domain name, but what do I do next? I read somewhere that it’s best to get a host (whatever that is) with cpanel and Fantastico. <no clue what these are :/
Can someone please tell me what I need to do. I’m completely lost.
It’s going to be a fashion/style blog
Answer: This is quite a popular question. Free hosting will not be the best hosting for you. Web hosting is the heart of your web presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 factors to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- lets you try their service for free or at very low price,
- gives unlimited diskspace,
- offers unlimited bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has easy Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their cheap dedicated server plans if and when your business require.
Answering your question, why not try Hostgator. If you are building your first website and needs a hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best cheap cpanel hosting around.
What if you find out that Hostgator sucks after you signed up with them? HG has 45 days, longer-than-industry-average money back guarantee so you have ample time to test them out. They are rated A+ by Better Business Bureau which shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. You also do not have to pay for the first month. You can just try their fully functional hosting service – you pay only $0.01 (you need to use the special coupon code). Do you know any other hosting company that can give you that kind of assurance? Anybody can grab an account from Hostgator for almost FREE.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost
If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just shoot them some questions before you decide.

If this is for a business, using Weebly would not be advisable for many reasons. I would highly recommend consulting with a WordPress professional in helping you get your WordPress website up and rolling. It won’t take a large amount of time or capital depending on your needs.

Hello,
Your in the right direction! WordPress.org is great to use. However, for someone like you that has no idea how to start a blog, I would recommend using Weebly (www.weeby.com)
I have used it before and for what you are trying to do, I think its right for you. Don’t be fooled when you go to the site and it says "click to make your website" because once you get into the setting you can change it to a blog. The program is VERY easy to use. Its on-line so you can access it from anywhere, and you don’t have to download anything. Its also ALL FREE. The only thing you would need to pay for is the domain name. Which you will see what its all about once you make your blog.
Hope I was a help! Good luck with the blog!!

What you are planning on doing is actually quite straight forward, you just need a decent WordPress guide. The best guide I know of is at the Getting Started With WordPress site. It’s quite in-depth and should help you get up and running very quickly.
