A typical question:
For example, if I want to move my website and all its pages and contents to another host, how do I do that without having to start over again? It’s a WordPress website I made using Artisteer.
Answer: It is not your fault you got confused. Free hosting will most probably never be the right hosting for most people. Web hosting is the heart of your online presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.
To answer your query, here are 7 things to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has excellent support and rated at least A+ by Better Business Bureau (BBB),
- gives more-than-enough storage,
- offers no limit on bandwidth,
- gives multiple add-on domains,
- has easy Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost

Look in your control panel to see if they have a zipping option. Cpanel users have this option, not sure about godaddy.
If you have SSH privileges, you could ssh into your account and zip that way.
You could ask godaddy to zip the files for you.
Other than that, you’ll have to FTP your files to your local machine. Don’t forget to get a backup of your database.

1). Backup your database. Wp-db backup is a nice plugin to backup your database, or do it manually, to PhpMyAdmin, look for your wordpress database and click "export" select all tables and click download.
2). After you backup your database, go to CPanel, look where you installed wordpress. Find wp-content folder and click "compress"
The most important is you have your database backup and wp-content folder because in this folder your have your plugins and themes, as well as stuff you have upload.

Some hosting companies will move it for you for a small fee. I suggest starting with JustHost or SuperGreen. I had a friend who recently had JustHost do it and everything turned out great.
