Answer: Here is why many business owners are wrong about getting free web hosting. Free hosting will most probably never be the best hosting for aspiring website owner. Web hosting is the heart of your web presence and can mean the life or death to your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 features to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has at least 30 days money back guarantee,
- gives more-than-enough webspace,
- offers no limit on bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has easy Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.
To answer your question, 92% of Webmasters recommended to try Hostgator. If you need an “unlimited” hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best cheap cpanel hosting around.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost
If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just shoot them some questions before you decide.

Getting the site running on a home server is really not that much of an issue. You could find many sites to give you a walk through. However, personally I would not suggest it. The price your saving is really minuscule. However, I’m assuming this "server" will only be a personal website and nothing that would store any type of personal or private information.
You could install an entire hosting package with
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
This will install all the software needed to host the webserver. (assuming you have a static ip) you would then just need to log into your cpanel for your domain and point it to your home server.
I would keep this server off your local network for security purposes.
Good Luck

For website hosting, I would recommend that you go with either HostGator, GoDaddy or WebhostingPad. Check out my website that has a bunch of coupons on there. You can save quite a bit of money.

You should get something with Cpanel, Unix hosting. Those are the most popular and best. I would highly recommend HostGator as I use them for my website and they have top notch support.

Hi,
1- You can’t do it for free.
2- Do you really intend to pass such a complicated process? You should know your site would be unavailable whenever your PC is turned off, and you’re leaving yourself open to attacks. So I recommend get a reliable company to do that in return for a few dollars.
3- http://www.goldpuma.com is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you ($3.99 /month). They accept monthly payments.
Hope this helps.
