Answer: This is quite a popular question. Free hosting will not be the best hosting for most people. Web hosting is the heart of your online presence and can mean the life or death to your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 things to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has excellent support and rated at least A+ by Better Business Bureau (BBB),
- gives unlimited diskspace,
- offers unlimited bandwidth,
- gives multiple add-on domains,
- has friendly Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost

Well, there’s a good chance these settings are being automagically set by your ISP in which case, you won’t see it this way but you can try:
Open Control Panel -> Network Connections, right click on your Network connection (or Local Area Connection) icon and select Properties.
Scroll down until you get to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), select it and click the Properties button.
In here, you should see the Preferred DNS server and the Alternatre DNS server.
If that doesn’t work, THIS WILL:
Open up a DOS prompt. (Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
You’ll see a black box with white writing and a prompt that says
C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName>
At that prompt, type:
ipconfig /all
and then you’ll have it.
