Hello.
I want my subdomain to be pointed using an IP…
Example: http://74.125.67.100/ shows Google’s homepage.
I want to show my subdomain’s webpage when one navigates to a similar IP address… Example: 123.123.123.12
What do I do?
-> If I go to the IP specified by "ping (mysubdomain).com" , It gives an error. and, my webhosts said, its not possible to point to a domain with their IP.
-> I want a FREE DNS service… I want to use webspace and email of the same webhost with whom I’m registered, but I just need a custom A records for my subdomain, for free…-> My webhost has an option for "Custom DNS Records"…where one can modify the A / MX records for a domain/subdomain…

The site you used to register your domain should provide basic DNS service for free. Typically with a hosted web service you don’t point to their ip address. Usually they have you create a CN record that points your domain to theirs. For example, I used Network Solutions for my personal domain and Google Apps for hosted services. From Network Solution’s site I manage DNS by creating a CN record that points mydomain.com to ghs.google.com (your web service host should give you the name to point to).
