A common question:
I use x10hosting. and i was wanting to know how do i make a new page (Ex: http://Mysitename.x10.mx/Photos
http://Mysitename.x10.mx/Videos
http://Mysitename.x10.mx/Biosomething like that and what do i need to name the folder to make it show up.
I use a layout from a ZIP file i use so do i upload it in that same folder as well?
and i don’t know how to use filezilla either so don’t suggest that to me.
just something i can do from the file manager area. i’m willing to make all the folders if needed for each and every page. It’s cause i wanna get my Crossfade Fansite finished but i only have the homepage up with everything it’s just making new pages is harder for me with this new host i’m using.
Thanks!
Answer: It is not your fault you got confused. Free hosting will most probably never be the best hosting for most people. Web hosting is one of the most critical thing for your business and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 features to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has at least 30 days money back guarantee,
- gives unlimited webspace,
- offers unlimited bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has friendly Site Builder,
- has Fantastico and QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of their best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.
Answering your question, why not try Hostgator. If you need an “unlimited” hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best cheap cpanel hosting around.
What if you find out that Hostgator sucks after you signed up with them? HG has 45 days, longer-than-industry-average money back guarantee so you have ample time to test them out. They are rated A+ by Better Business Bureau which shows their commitment to customer satisfaction. You also do not have to pay for the first month. You can just try their fully functional hosting service – you pay only $0.01 (you need to use the special coupon code). Do you know any other hosting company that can give you that kind of assurance? Anybody can grab an account from Hostgator for almost FREE.

Who Should Not Try Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost
If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just shoot them some questions before you decide.

In cPanel, you can use File Manager. For each category on your site, you’ll want to set up a subfolder in the main folder for each category. So, in the same place your index.html page is, you’ll create a folder for Photos. In this Photos folder, you’ll put an index.html page that is the main page for your Photos. You’ll do this for each of the subsequent categories you want.
A ZIP file, is merely a compressed file. You’ll still need to extract the file to actually use it. Typically, templates that are zipped will also contain directions to install it.

If you are unfamiliar with how to use HTML documents, you can check out downloading Komopozer:
http://www.kompozer.net/
If Kompozer doesn’t do it for you, there’s a whole list of HTML editor here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_HTML_editors
If you want to use FileZilla instead of the CPanel to upload files, it’s easier to learn CPanel, but faster once you know how to use FileZilla, there’s a manual for FileZilla and Kompozer here:

Along with a download link to FileZilla.
I hope all of this helps point you in the right direction 🙂
